Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Threw Carolina rig straight tail worms and light jigs. Caught 15 fish, 9 from one point and over 100 feet out. Did not catch anything in close to the bank. Fish have definately moved out but were biting once you got it to them. Natural no flake colors were the best. Use sent and fish slow. Couldn't get bit with the normal plastics for this lake (brush-hogs, lizards, etc.), only the 4" worm. Bite should get better this week with the steady temp. forecasts.

      Water Temp: 56-62

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: My buddy and I are very much on amateur side, but managed to do OK on SAT in crazy and cold conditions. started off with two smallies and a small spot just after launch in Capell cove on Rapala countdown. headed across lake to Farmhouse, and he hit a smallmouth on every point with the same rapala while I shook up some some 1.5-2lb spots on variety of plastics, I picked up one 3.5lb largemouth on green weenie, but most fish came on yamamoto spider grub. Despite MARBLE size hailstorm that lasted 45 min in afternoon that must have dumped the water temp, we totalled about 18 fish even mix of smallies, spots, and largemouth

Tips: Who knows, I'm just a simple caveman, these coldfronts confuse me?

      Water Temp: 58-60

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: It was a down-pour dodging kind of day. I'd move my custom Valco in and out of docks during the showers. I worked the afternoon/In-coming tide while I watched the Valley Bait Basser's come to the weigh-in. Cuaght 6 bass today. Best 5 fish came to a total of just over 15 lbs. I had a 6 lb. kicker. Cuaght one on a char./wht. spinnerbait. One on a Blk./Blu. Senko. My other 4 incuding the kicker were cuaght on a 6" jun./char. Budda Worm, 3/16 brass wt., and a glass bead. The bass were holding tight to cover. The Bass Buster boat is almost complete. Soon I will be installing my custom live well. All I need now is a 15 to 20 hp motor with a safty kill switch. Then the Bass Buster will be bust'n loose in the tournaments. To Ken and Steve, pretty soon I won't need to look for a partner to fish with, but it would be nice to fish off of somebodies Ranger.

      Water Temp: colder

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Virtual dock talk. When you're lost as much as I am, what's an angler to do? Take last year at a two dayer at Shasta or example. Ater the irst day someone said check out the Pit. I said ok, but how do you launch a boat in one? We had a limit well over 4lbs on the irst day, so on the second day we learned how that arm got it's name. Another 4lb plus limit! At the scales, observers thought we had a bag ull o green shad. Post ront today stopped the reaction bite cold. 11 on darter heads in the south- including two 3lb spots Dylan caught and our smallies. I'd say he back seated me, but he ran the ront or a while. Ater trying to dead stick in hurricane like conditions the batteries were toast. Luckily my casting arm (normally hanging limp at the end o the day rom reaction baits) was rested enough to pull start my Mercury 90 six cylinder.
      City: El Dorado Hills

Tips: Rapidly cooling water temps will slow them down in spring. Downsized to 4" worms and ished real slow.

      City: Rohnert Park

Tips: Bass are still spawning. I've seen nests as deep as 5 eet when the water is clear enough. Back o the tules to see them. Lots o bass ry to 3 inches around.Someone told me that 3 inch ry are 2 months old. Wow. That means a ew ish were spawning in early ebuary!

      Water Temp: 59

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished Thursday aternoon and night, and Friday. Only averaged about 8 ish per trip - very windy both trips, with rain and heavy wind on Fri. Caught most o our bass on 5 and 6 inch Senkos in black and watermelon colors. Biggest was only 3 pounds - we did not get the big bite this time. I saw a lot o bass on Thurs, but only 2 big ones. Most o our bass were quality - 2 to 2 1/2 lbs. Clients did pretty well, considering the weather. They did miss several bites. We ound some bass in the coves, but the bigger ones were on points. Couldn't ish jigs well because o slime and weeds.
      City: Yuba City

Tips: Fish or the bass you can see, and in the brush. Slow moving plastics seems to be the key now. Please release any big emales you catch!!

Report: I've certainly noticed the same thing about the Yamamoto baits. Though they're soft and tantilizing and the fish love 'em, I can't help but think it's part of Yamamoto's grand plan to make them fragile. At about 60 cents a pop, it adds up fast if you're using them all day---which I'll probably be doing, along with a lot of other guys this spring. The quality fish make it worth it, I guess. If someone came up with a kevlar senko and charged $5 a pop for it, we'd still save money. Or something made out of used tires.... Tips: Try Burger King fries. They may catch just as many fish, they're a helluva lot cheaper, and if they don't work, you can eat 'em.

      Water Temp: 50+

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: I still say they need to just fill the Delta in. I did fish today. I went south. I got about 15 keepers for the day and all most that number of small fish. The red speed trap was working off and on all day for me, good for about half of my keepers fishing rip-rap in the morning then when the tide was out some, the fronts of the weed lines was working. I also was using brush-hogs in the tules and I do mean back in the tules. I only got about half of my fish out that I set the hook on. The speed trap was red, the brush-hogs I would say just use a dark color. Best 5 was only 10lb 14oz.

Report: Partner and I wished ABA out of Ladds today, we fished in the Mildred area and caught a limit of about 11 pounds on spinner bait and senkos. We decided to run to fourteen mile and look for some bigger fish, we did just that. I caught a 3 pounder and my personal best Delta fish, she was 8.05 pounds. Both these fish were caught on senkos, we had 19.20 pounds for our five fish limit and came in fourth place. 24+ pounds won.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: was cold and windy but we managed to put 3 small fish in the boat. there was a tournement going on and watched the weigh in they did much better than us the big fish was over 8 and the total weight was over 24 so the fish can be caught. we fished the reeds but it was slow it sounded like we should have been fishing docks as that is where the big fish were caught.

      Water Temp: 58-59

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Hey Larry rom Lakeport - you are supposed to go on the nights that they are biting!! Seriously, I have not been night ishing recently, and it may not be too good with all this cold weather. I only guided once last week at Clear Lake, since I had trips to Oroville and Amador. Wednesday a man and wie ished with me and we caught 12, with the ive best at 27 lb 3 oz. She caught her irst Senko bass in tules, and he caught several up to 4 3/4 lbs on jigs. Since it was so cold, we ished rock ledges in the Rattlesnake arm in the morning with jigs, which worked out well, and then switched to Senkos in the aternoon, ishing tules rom Buckingham point to Wheeler point. I pulled out a 7-15 rom the back o two rows o tules on a new color Senko I was trying - #159. I was trying 12# test Sugoi luorocarbon on a spinning reel - think I'll use heavier stu. That was more sport than I wanted! We also got a couple under docks with Senkos that were over 5 lbs. This was a better trip than I expected, considering the drastic weather change.
      City: Yuba City

Tips: It would be hard to give any tips now, since the weather has really been nasty this weekend, and downright dangerous. So, when will they inish spawning?? One thing about late season cold ronts - the bass respond much quicker to the turn around warm days. Things may improve on Wed and Thurs. I'll be there to see!!

      Water Temp: 56-59

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Started the day let o the launch ramp where the ish were supposed to be bedding, but because o the recent cold weather there weren't any ish on beds. We moved around the lake trying to ind warmer water. Fished a ew coves across rom the launch ramp, a couple small ish. Found warmer water (59) toward the ishing arm under the bridge and caught a ew there, none o real size and by the time we ound that warmer water it was time to go home.
      City: Nevada City

Tips: Fish are deeper. Find warm water. Shake worms. Bite will be on when weather gets warmer.
