Report: Decided to enjoy the Memorial Day Madness. It was interesting - lots of wind, skiers, cruisers and topless women. Yay. Fished the three spots that are fairly sheltered from wind. First spot, got 6, best went 3#, all on white/chartruese spinnerbaits pitched under trees, slow rolled. Second spot, zilch. Third spot, did great - five fish, all quality, biggest went 5#. All on jigs.

Tips: Tips: A bit of wind makes a good spinnerbait bite. Watch the entry, as most of the bites are within the first 6".

Report: Fished after work last night near Orwood. Was great being on the water with no other boats. Only saw 1 boat and 1 jet ski. AHHH how peaceful. Tide was low and incoming. Fish started off at the outside edge of the weed line then moved up to wood cover as the tide came in. Tried several baits. No luck pitching plastics (zippers, and lizards) picked up a few on a white spinner bait. At dusk I tried some topwater. Caught a few on a Skitter Pop. Tried a buzz bait with no luck. All fish were small biggest went about 1.8.

Report: Had a great day 5/16/99. Fished Rock Slough and caught 11 fish, lost 3. Largest was 7 lbs. Aside from 1 dink, the rest were all in the 2+ range. Most caught early on a spinnerbait, later fish caught on jig and pig. Fish hitting pretty hard so no problems telling a hit from bouncing off a log or rock. Caught fish all during the falling tide. Most were sitting in 4 ft of water or less. As tide went out fish moved deeper and started hiting rubber worms in about 6-8ft of water.
      City: Oakland

Tips: Tips: Spinnerbaits early then switch to dark color jig and pig or rubber worms.

Report: Bass-n-Tubes tourney on Sunday was won by Tim Crane, Jr., with 7.78 lbs. Andy & Kevin joined us rom the Sonoma County Belly Boat Bass Club. They hiked over to Cherry Creek rom Yorty, where they said they could SEE some monster ish in the shallows, but couldn't get them to bite. Weather was beautiul -- wind was manageable when it kicked up; otherwise, it died out completely at times, with air temps into the 80s. Water was real clear in the coves, with a nice green color in the main body. I caught most o my limit split-shotting 4-5 inch worms & T-rigging a Baby Brush Hog. Tim caught one or two on a spinnerbait, one crankin', & a ew more with a Gitzit. Sounds like the big mamas were up in Cherry Creek, though. I missed 3rd place by .05 lbs., ater missing adecent ish in tangled brush just minutes beore weigh-in. Ain't that how it goes?!!

Tips: With little or no winds, inesse techniques seemed most eective.
