      Water Temp: 63

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: With Lake Anderson closed due to lack of staff for the mussel inspections, Richard and I had no choice but to go to Calero Reservoir. Starting off at the back of Bailey Cove, we threw spinnerbaits and jigs but had no luck. The water was quite dirty due to the run off from the storms we had last week. Around 10am, we made a move to the flats located between the two damns. The water clarity here is much better, about 2-3 feet. Richard throws out a tube on a 7

      Water Temp: 55

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: The wind has pushed the fish out to 5-15ft.
Look for fish on the most vertical drop off in spawning areas and fish slow. When the wind go's down head for the back of bays and find the best isolated cover.Mid next week should be wide open!
      City: roseville

Tips: I fish folsom 3-4 days a week and see lots of shore fishermen killing every fish they catch. On thrus i saw five "people" fishing the rock garden area from the bank all but one of them had three bobbers out or more. And they are out almost every day. Please stop killing my best freinds. If we all stop talking about it and do somthing then it will chang.Call dfg in front of them so they can hear the call and stay in site so you can help dfg find them cf# plate # .
Last year i called dfg on four guys killing short fish off the dock @gb .The thing that botherd me the most was alot of people did nothing. They all got cited for over limit and under size fish. I don't think calling things as you see them is a bad thing and if they were white guys i would have done the same.Call dfg and keep the white trash thing out of it .I will help anyone that is not killing fish .

      Water Temp: 57-62

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: I hoped to beat an in coming front today but didn't make it. I started fishing about 11 am and the wind was up. It clouded up and got nasty in the early afternoon. I only caught a beautiful trout (14") on a Senko. Finally I caught a largemouth nearly 3 lbs at the south end. She was pretty beat up from spawning. As I worked my way back to the ramp, I threw the same brown/orange jig of the side of a point and my line took off. Finally a decent bass - another largemouth at 4 lbs 10 oz - not a mark on her - yet!! And that was it - 5 bites - 2 bass and 1 trout. I did not venture into the river arm - probably should have. Wish I had better news - and better timing!!!
      City: Yuba City

Tips: The lake appears to have dropped 2 or so feet since last week. It still has several feet to go before it fills - if it does. I saw a few on beds but wind took care of that kind of fishing. Didn't find any in the back of coves - except the trout!! The next warm front should bring a lot more bass up - but that won't be for a few days. Maybe big cold front on Monday.

Report: The main reason for my post is to promote the upcoming Chico Bass Conservation Club Oroville Team Bass tournament to be held on April 25. For a $60.00 entry you get a chance to win a few bucks fishing, a BBQ dinner and entry in the big fish option for a chance at more cash. All the conditions are right for this tournament to draw over 100 boats. Hey and don't leave the wives and kids at home cause there are plenty of chances for them to win a prize at the weigh-in. You can call 872-8805 or 877-0912 for more information or if you have a fax number you can e-mail me and I'll be glad to send you a copy of the flyer with all the info. With the lake up 111 feet at this post and all the ramps open its not to early to gear up for what promises to be the biggest bang for your buck in fishing this year. See you there.
      City: Paradise

Tips: Everything looks fishy out there now and to be honest I don't have a handle on whats working best. But reports show rip baits off points in windy conditions would be a good bet. Or start with the baits you have the most confidence in and see where that leads you. We may get more posts in here to help. Above all get out there and enjoy the lake while we still have water in it.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: THERE ARE VERY MANY REASONS WHY THEY WILL NOT OPEN UP THE RIVER.THE MAIN REASON IS FISHERMAN ALL THE PRESSURE THE LITTLE HAS ONIT THE FISH ARE VERY COMFORTABLE BACK THERE LEFT ALONE. THEY OPEN IT UP AND THE FISHING PRESSURE WILL SKYROCKET.LEAVE THEM ALONE AND LET THEM GROW BIG.AND THE BALD EAGLE NEST FELL DOWN LAST YEAR.

Report: Next time someone fishes Eastman and is posting, please make mention of water level in relation to 3rd ramp, 2nd ramp and maybe how far up said ramp. I fish this lake as much as possible and just have a curiosity as to how much up from my Fall trip. This lake ROCKS and i can't wait to get back to fish it in about 2 to 3 weeks.

Also, I have been searching for info regarding opening up the river arm, at least partially. I believe the concern is bald eagle nests and there were discussions about opening up for fall. (hey, fisherman are stoked to simply see the eagle, no one wants to encroach on a nest) This is a GREAT area - why not post no landing signs on inside and call it a day. The Hydrilla weeds can't still be a problem, can they? I've caught tons of great fish in that area when it was open.

      Someone, fish Eastman and post!

Tips: Love this lake - catch and release.

      Water Temp: 51

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished this past Saturday and Sunday. Saturday we fished the main body and the Pitt. We caught 15 fish, all but one were on Senko's. Only was was of any size. Lots of drift, the water is very milky everywhere and quite abit of wind. Sunday we fished the Sac arm. Water was not quite as stained at Salt Creek. We caught 13 fish. Again only one of any size and all were on Senko,s. The wind was blowing!! At times we were doing 14 mph down the shoreline. We did see occasional large concentrations of fish at 50 to 80 feet and they were suspended??
      City: Rough and Ready

Tips: Senko's seem to be the only thing they would bite? Only one fish on minnows. We tried spinnerbaits, dart headed worms, beavers and several other things to no avail. The wind played a major part on what we could do or not do.

      Water Temp: Felt like upper

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I tried Float Tubing initially, but the wind blew me all over hell and back, so i hauled it back to the car and went on foot. With all the wind, i fished wind blown points and did pretty good. All on Jigs. I tried mixing it up with spinnerbaits, worms/senkos and cranks. All bit on Jigs in shallower water. I would say the bite is on; fish look really good. My biggest - 3-1/2 lbs, had a nice belly and sort of red lips - makes me think they are eating crawdads ... i'd say spawn is almost here. Saw a lot of carp.
      City: PacificGrove

Tips: if the weather continues, I would bet next week really turns on more. Everyone should be releasing - saw a bass head on shore and a dead fish later in the day. WTF?

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Fished the delta saturday and sunday. Saturday was beautiful but was forced into only a couple hours of fishing due to engine problems and a trolling motor scare. Only got 3 hours in, missed 1 on a frog first thing and blanked the rest of the day. Sunday was met with 30mph winds, tried finding seclusion in Sycamore, picked up a 2.5lb. Ran to Little Potato and the entrance of whites, terrible conditions. ran back between Tower Park and the Mokolumne, cvaught a dink, lost 2 fish, landed a 3lb striper and lost a very very big fish, assuming it was a striper. Had to chase it with the boat, was a great fight though on a med rod with 10lb test. a buddy had a great day sunday with their limit going 17lbs with a 7.5 kicker.
