Water Temp: 64-70
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Friday I had the pleasure of taking out three over-sees clients here on a buying trip. They were all new to bass fishing but caught on really fast. I started them out with spooks, pop-r's and vixons. Bass were blowing up all morning on the top water lures. As the sun came up we changed to senko's, tubes and blades. They all caught bass on all the methods except the blades. Biggest bass of 18 1/2 inches was on the top water vixon. All of the clients were having a great first experience with high fives and lots of noise. Group photos highlighted the trip.
City: ParadiseTips: As mentioned earlier, the top water action was mostly in the first foot to five feet from the bank. Some of the blow ups came before the ripple left the plug. The tube was a harder method for them, but they finally started to notice the line movement to detect to bite.

Water Temp: 64-70
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: I had the pleasure of taking another father/son out this Thursday. They were camping in the Bidwell Camp Ground and wanted to do some bass fishing. We headed for the upper slot area and then up to the North Fork. I started them out with throwing baby bass spooks with a few blowups and one hook up. Switched to tubes and it was a differnt out come. Both started nailing bass up to 15 inches and one 22 inch catfish. Both had a great time and so did I seeing them have it.
City: ParadiseTips: As for top water, placement is important. Spooks have great action, but need to be up close to the bank for best results right now. When the bass force the bait fish to the top of the water out in the middle then just throw where you see action. The tubes are always a great method and the best color today was watermelon.

Water Temp: ?
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: I helped some folks staying on a houseboat with their bass fishing - using one of their boats - a Ranger walleye boat! Two of the fellows did well on topwater before I got there and we got a few after I boarded. I mainly showed them good spots to fish the lake since they are learning. Some of the young children got on around noon and we did sosme drop-shotting with good results. We used Basstrix Flashtrix minnows and Robo worms. One of the young girls hooked a nice largemouth. She could hardly control it, but the adults cheered her on and she boated a 2 lb largie. We caught a bunch of bass in that hour and a half - mostly smallies - from 1 1/2 to 2 lbs. The kids had a ball. Best colors were ayu, morning dawn, and MMIII.
City: Yuba cityTips: As was mentioned in the previous report, the lake seems to be dropping more quickly than normal. Most of our drop-shot fish were at the 20 foot level during the bright daylight, but shallow in the early morning. We fish points and small ledges mostly.

California Delta

Water Temp: 74
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Went out at about 5:30pm for my dads birthday. Fished until dark and caught a lot of good ones. We fished near Sugar Barge Marina and caught a few 1 to 2 pounders, then my brother catches three 4lb + in a row. Never seen three 4 pounders on three consecutive casts, it was quite a good day! Though my dad didnt boat any 4lb or bigger, we all caught some and did great for being out for 3 hours.
City: Pleasant Hill, CATips: Fish near the tules. Senko bite has died down. Also tried top water and no reaction, but dont be discouraged to still throw some.

Then tried cranking along tulle line and caught one 4-12lb. Then a small 1 lb. and that was it. Used a old crank with alot of flash since water was muddy. Didn't feel fish on until felt the weight. odd bite. Too hot, muddy water, call it quits at 11am.

Rock/mud gave me 4 more. Left around 3pm. Guys were reporting not to fly out back to pardee. No fish. Stick up front as the bass are feeding on trouts getting ready for a departure.

Report: After hearing all the bad reports about the island pond, decided to head out to try my luck. Actually I did okay comparing to the previous reports. I got total of 3 with the biggest around 4lb. rest were 1 and 2lb. All on long leader drop shot. I had 2 pop ups on frog today but no taker. Anyways, its really getting tough now. I used to average 6 to 10 fish a trip. Right now I'll be happy with 5 fish.
City: FremontTips: Start catch and release. Stop the killing for bass.

Eastman Lake

Water Temp: 74-78
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: The lakes still dropping and they where getting the lower ramps ready today. Morning bite was good for cranks in shad, craws and bluegills. I had a few hit on blades but, nothing on spooks. I hit 2 on poppers. My nephew dropped shot-ed all morning and did well on O-82 green weenies and shad patterns. We fished from about 5 Am till noon and moved to Hensley. We boated around 25 or so fish most where 12" to 16" a few good ones 2-2 1/2# 1-5# and the big fish of the day just under 8#. Not great but, the kid had a blast and that's more than good enough for me.
City: fresnoTips: Best bet is the picnic area as there is still some rock piles there. The 5 MPH in the trees in the Am did OK the best fish today came off the camping side and the dam face. The 2" trap in shad had more hits than the 4". I did not fish any humps or swim bates so no help there. Jigs in Craw dads and lizards did some but, not great. Most fish where in about 2 to 7 feet of water. With the gas prices I think my days of fishing 4 days a week are gone. Bummer....
Have a great time and be careful. Humps, stumps and bumps.. and kids in daddy's boats.

Also missed some and caught some on a weightless brush hog after dark.
